Activities - Week 16 - Tuesday

Good morning, Year 6!

We will be contacting your parents later today with an invitation for you to come into school on Wednesday 15th July, from 1.30 - 2.30pm for a leavers' lunch. This will give you an opportunity to say goodbye to any friends and members of staff that you won't otherwise see. (For safety reasons, you will need to bring and eat your own food!) If the hoodies are ready, you will also be able to collect them.

If you have any questions, please email us at: year6.cabot@bristol-schools.uk

Then complete this worksheet: Tuesday's Maths Worksheet.

(Don't forget that you can do this by writing the answers in your book or on a piece of paper - you don't need to print the sheet out.)

Then check your work against the answers: Tuesday's Maths Answers.

This will be the last video lesson. Today, we're writing a fact box and doing a final edit.

R.E.

Watch and read the information on Humanism. How is this belief system similar to what you believe in? How is it different?

PSHE

Watch this video about Elijah, who was an Olympic Ambassador for the London 2012 Olympics. What's important to him about where he lives? What's important to you? How does Elijah celebrate where he lives? What would you say if you were an ambassador for Bristol?

Have a great day - we're looking forward to seeing you next week!

Term 6 - Writing

In literacy lessons, we have been learning about part of S. F. Said's book, 'Phoenix'. We read an edited version of the first chapter, and over the next few weeks, created our own action stories based on that.

Term 6 - Language Skills

Year 6 have been practising their -ant, -ance, -ancy and -ent, -ence and -ency spellings recently. One fun way we found to practise was by playing a matching game. Children had to turn over a word card and a definition card and see if they matched. If they did, the children had to try to spell the word without looking at the card. If they were correct, they kept the pair of cards. The winner was the player with the most pairs!

Term 6 - Music Week

For Music Week, we listened to 'The Carnival of the Animals'. Year 6 focused on 'The Aviary'. After discussing the piece of music, we looked at images of birds and then collaborated as a table to create our own bold, beautiful birds. Don't they look great?
