Primary Maths Challenge

We are very proud that some pupils in our class took part in a National Maths Competition this week. It was really tough - even Mrs Cartlidge couldn't answer all the questions in time! Pupils will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates for this round, and we will find out in the next couple of weeks whether the scores of any Cabot pupils were high enough to go through to the final round in February. Well done to all the children who took part!

Welcome to Year 6!

We've had a wonderful first term in Year 6! We've started learning about our topic, the Shang Dynasty, and have come up with lots of questions we hope to research. In science, we're learning about materials, and we have been testing objects for their properties in class. As part of this, we recently explored the Science Garden. Some of us managed to use the pulley system to transport water in waterproof containers from one side of the garden to the other! Year 6 are keen performers, and we recently performed Michael Rosen's 'Chocolate Cake' in assembly; at the end of this week we'll be going to the Hippodrome to see him perform some of his poems - we can't wait! This year will be full of hard work and fun, and we can't wait
