Lifeskills Trip

On Monday afternoon, Year 6 visited Lifeskills. We were so impressed with the way that they had recreated so many different places, from a bank to a Co-op shop, to a train station, to a building site!

Children worked in small groups to identify risks in hazardous situations, and to learn how to manage these dangers. Some scenarios involved calling up the 'emergency services', whilst others taught us how to look after our bikes and how to calculate change.

We had an incredible trip, and we'll definitely recommend next year's Year 6 to visit Lifeskills to help them learn how to be safe in hazardous situations!

Term 5 - Literacy

In Literacy, we read and wrote discussion texts about whether or not artefacts such as the Benin Bronzes should be returned to their countries of origin. To explore the issue, Year 6 took part in role-play activities and conscience alleys to share their opinions and understand how different people might feel about this topical issue. Year 6 showed great maturity in discussing this topic and were able to express their viewpoints with evidence and arguments to back themselves up.
